In 2020, Aaron R. Koehn (b. 1993) pleaded guilty to four felony counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child under 16 for engaging in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old female victim who had been his student at Creekside Christian School in Pryor, Oklahoma. The school is operated by Pryor Creek Mennonite Church, a congregation affiliated with the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite.
In April 2020, according to the probable cause affidavit, 27-year-old Koehn went to the Mayes County (Okla.) Sheriff’s Office and submitted “a written voluntary statement confessing to being naked with [and] kissing a juvenile, 14 year old female.” In a recorded interview with an investigator, “Koehn admitted as [an] adult he should not have been in a romantic, sexual relationship with [a] 14 year old.”
In June 2021, Koehn pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to ten years in prison with seven years suspended. After serving approximately two years in state prison, Koehn was released in 2023, placed on probation for the remainder of the sentence, and required to register as a sex offender for life.
